Korfball
What is korfball?
Similar to netball and basketball, korfball is a ball sport, invented in the Netherlands, played by two teams of eight players. The objective is to throw the ball into a netless basket on a 3.5 metre high pole.
It’s not all about size
A korfball team consists of 4 male and 4 female players. There’s no blocking or tackling, and you can only defend against someone of the same gender. The rules of korfball stop physicality from dominating the game - so it’s more about movement and quick thinking than it is about strength and height.
You can get involved
Korfball is growing rapidly in the UK and it’s accessible for people of all ages, (with versions of the game for people with disabilities). Just click the button below to search for korfball activities near you.
